V.R. Athavale (1918- ): of the Gwalior Gharana; disciple of Vinayakrao Patwardhan; biographer of Vishnu Digambar Paluskar; served as the Director of the Hindustani Faculty at Kala Academy in Panjim, Goa, in the 1980s; known more as a vidwan and teacher.
