“Hanuman Prasad Mishra (b. 1913), a great Sarangi player, was born at Kabir Chaura in Banaras. He belonged to a family of maestros. He studied under his family elders, mainly under his father Surya Sahaya, a Sarangi player. He also studied under Bade Ramdas, the great Gayanacharya of Banaras, for some time.”
His disciples include his sons, Rajan and Sajan Mishra.
