About Prabhudev Sardar
Prabhudev Sardar was born on September 4, 1925 in Solapur, Maharashtra. He took the BA and LLB degrees and for a while practiced law. His first musical teacher was Digambarbuwa Kulkarni of Solapur. Later, he came under the tutelage of two great gurus in Jagannathbuwa Purohit (Gunidas) and Nivruttibuwa Sarnaik. Prabhudev Sardar has been associated with All India radio since 1950. He has performed extensively all over India and in some foreign countries such as USA, Canada, UK and France. He has served on the faculty of Karnatak University in Dharwad. His most recent appointment was as Director of the Music & Dance Faculty at Kala Academy in Panjim, Goa.

Prabhudev Sardar passed away on March 13, 2008, in Panjim, Goa after suffering a heart failure. He was 83.
