About Kagalkarbuwa
Vyankatesh A. Kagalkar (1902-1972), known as Kagalkarbuwa, was the senior-most pupil of Sawai Gandharva and imbibed the essence of the Kirana gayaki from him. He also took training from other luminaries of the time such as Balkrishnabuwa Ichalkaranjikar and Ramkrishnabuwa Vaze. Later in his musical journey he also sought instruction from the Agra maestro Vilayat Hussein Khan.
