Venkateshwara Temple at Cochin, the mother temple of all the Goud Saraswat Brahmin Konkanis of Goan origin settled in Kerala. The fleeing Goans first put down roots in Cochin c. 1560, and this temple was built in 1599. The massive temple bell is among the largest in India.
