Kerala

A village temple at Kappil, near Varkala. The Hindu temples of Kerala are not physically grand structures. What they lack in size they make up in visually appealing design, in their enchanting locales, in engaging rituals & festivals, and in the rich fund of lore attached to them. There are common themes to all Kerala temples - their layout, the materials employed, the geometry, the artwork - and the officious twits of the Dewaswom Board that administers them.
